Big Time Hoops

Congratulations to the Las Cruces Lady Bulldawgs, who beat Mayfield 49-39 to take home the 2009 Holiday Hoop-La Trophy. Mayfield Hobbs took third place. The Eldorado Eagles finished strong, defeating Jefferson for the consolation bracket.

For fans of prep basketball, this game is meaningful because of the number of quality New Mexico recruits Highlands has on its team. Players include Whitley Coca (’09-Cimarron), Ashley Godfrey (’09-Las Cruces), Whitney Polosky (’09-Manzano) and Megan Bass (’09-Eldorado) who is a red shirt. Hobbs upsets Eldorado The unranked Hobbs Eagles defeated the #1 Eldorado Golden Eagles, 49-47, in opening play at the La Posta Holiday Hoopla.
