Sandia’s Walker Metro Player of the Week
The Matadors’ leading scorer and rebounder led the state’s second-ranked team to a come-from-behind win at Gallup. The 6-foot-2 Texas Tech-bound senior is averaging 14.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and a team-high 2.5 assists.
Coach Susan Kubala discusses her top player:
Talent: “She’s solid at both ends of the floor. Most scorers tend not to play defense because it could cause fouls and lead to time on the bench. She’s not like that at all.”
Personality: “She’s a humble, team-oriented player who is focused on giving her teammates all the attention. She’s just a very unselfish person.”
Up Next: “A true post who was one of the country’s top recruits. No doubt she has a bright future.”
