Games to Watch

Gallup Catholic hosts Magdalena – 2:00 PM

Magdalena looks unstoppable at this point in the season. The Lady Steers (10-0, 1-0) face a good Gallup Catholic team (6-4) that will be an entertaining game. Aside from Disrtict 3-1A (which has Cliff and Animas), 6-1A looks to be an ultra-competitive district this season.

Peñasco hosts Clayton – 5:00 PM

Clayton (11-2) travels to Peñasco (10-6) in a game that pits two, strong second-place teams in their respective districts.

Las Cruces hosts Hobbs – 7:00 PM

Hobbs is certainly fired up after their surprise loss to Mayfield last night. This game is a rematch of the Hoop-La semi-final game, where Las Cruces won 46-34. With Hobbs’ stable of sharp-shooters, Abney and company know they can’t take the Eagles lightly. Both teams came out flat in last contests: Hobbs against Mayfield, Cruces against Los Lunas. Neither can afford this to happen again.
