Burges standout signs with UTEP

StacieTellesIt may have taken her a few years cutting her teeth at the junior college level, but former El Paso Burges standout Stacie Telles is now playing for a D1 school, in her home town, no less.

UTEP Lady Miner head coach, Keitha Adams announced six signings to her program earlier this week, and Telles was on top of the list.

Telles, who earned All-State honors during her senior year with the Mustangs, helped lead the New Mexico Junior College to its first appearance in the the NJCAA National Tournament in program history.

“We’re extremely excited about adding Stacie to our team. I’m impressed with how hard she plays and the level she competes at on a daily basis. Her motor is always running on fast. She will play point guard and the two guard position for us. She passes it well, will push the ball up the floor, and she can knock down the three-point shot. It will be fun for our fans to have another player from El Paso added to our team,” said Adams.
